BSEN 1090 Execution Class 2 Accredited.

We achieved BS EN 1090 accredited which is a legal requirement for structural steelworks. This covers any structural component that has been designed to meet the BS EN 1991 series of standards (Eurocode 3 and 9) for steel structures in buildings. Under the BS EN 1090 certification we work to up to and including execution class 2, this enables us to fabricate project for residential, commercial and agricultural projects as well as building in other sectors up to 15 stories.

From 1st July 2014, under the CPD, it was made a legal requirement for companies involved in the manufacture or supply of fabricated steel products to adhere to the requirements of the BS EN 1090 standard and ensure their products are correctly CE marked. This is because fabricated steel products are deemed to be “safety critical”. In January 2021, following Brexit, the UKCA mark was introduced. Any structural metalwork placed on the UK market of Great Britain (comprising England, Scotland and Wales) must have the UKCA mark added to it to demonstrate compliance with the manufacturing standard.

The added benefits of working to this standard, is it allows us to have much better control of processes making sure all projects run smoothly with out stress or hidden issues, the traceability of material certification makes sure all material is to standard along with all welders and equipment begin tested to the relevant standards set by UKAS.
